Once the boards go down, nobody sees the frame again. That’s exactly why we take our time with it.

Plumb, level, and square. A deck that feels solid underfoot for years starts with what’s underneath.

PLJ Carpentry builds decks across Cape Cod, the South Shore, and New England, with a 15-year workmanship warranty.

He waited every day to find something wrong with the framing. He never could.

Her husband built custom homes for over 30 years, so when they were ready to work on their own house, the bar was high. He did his research, they went with PLJ, and she says it was beyond their expectations.

She also said there was never a question that went unanswered, even when we were getting back to her at 10 at night.

Thank you both for trusting us with your home. That means a lot coming from a builder.

Her last line is the one we’ll hold onto: “I have recommended PLJ to everyone, including my parents.”

The storm’s moved on. Now’s a good time to walk around the house and take a look.

Most storm damage is easy to miss at first. A few lifted shingles or a loose piece of siding doesn’t look like much, but it’s how water gets in before winter.

Swipe through for what to check, and do it from the ground.

If you spot something and you’re not sure what it means, send us a photo and your town. We’ll take a look.

A strong nor’easter is moving through Cape Cod and the Islands this weekend, with high winds, heavy rain, and coastal flooding expected through Saturday night.

Please take it seriously. Stay off flooded roads, stay clear of downed wires, and check on the neighbors who might need a hand.

We’ll be here when it clears. Stay safe, everybody.
