"No thanks, I can get a flower bouquet for $10 at Walmart"

You're right, you can!

But here's what that $10 bouquet doesn't tell you:

Those blooms likely traveled 3,000+ miles to get to your store. Most grocery store flowers are grown in Colombia, Ecuador, or Kenya, treated with chemicals you'd never want touching your dinner table, cut up to 2 weeks before you buy them, and drenched in harsh preservatives + dyes to keep them "perfect."

By the time you're holding that bouquet, it's already lived most of its natural life. What you're holding is something so preserved that I'd argue that it's barely classified as something that was once living.

When you support a local flower farmer, your flowers were cut this week. Some of them that same day. They came from soil right here, supporting your local land and pollinators.

And if you choose a sustainable + organically grown flower farm? There are no fungicides, no pesticides, no post-harvest preservative baths. Just sunshine, mindful farming methods, and a whole lot of dirt under the fingernails.

So no, that extra $10+ isn't just for some flowers. You're paying for:

🌸 Flowers that won't harm your local wildlife or soil

🌸 Something you can have your entire family pick up, touch, and smell without worrying about the harmful chems on petals

🌸 Blooms that were grown with real hands, sweat, and long hours from seed to flower with no shortcuts

🌸 A small business owner who sees every purchase and knows your name

And at a farm like ours, you're paying for a hand-wrapped, ribboned arrangement in a glass vase. Everything is thoughtfully designed — from the bloom color choices to the thank-you card and cute sticker — right down to our unique flower stand, designed by me and built by my husband over many long months of planning and building.

Cheap flowers are cheap for a reason. If you want $10 bouquets, you're not my ideal customer. And that's ok!

These cost more because they're coming from a place of love and hard work 🤍

Wait, I can imagine 🙈

For those who don’t know, I have a bachelor’s degree in textile and apparel from Western Michigan University! 🐴

But in those 4 years I changed programs many times: ultrasound tech > kinesiology > textile + apparel /business

After college I tried my hand at a huge corporate fashion job in San Francisco, which totally flopped. The lifestyle just wasn’t for me.

That led me to a career in marketing for 10 years which slowly tapered off when I started my family 👶🏼

My post-college life was so fast paced, tech forward, and had me on my phone or laptop 24/7

Oooof, it was a lot.

And here I am, 32 years old, owning a flower farm that FEEDS my soul.

The moral of the story is that it’s never too late to change paths. Go for your dreams girls 🫶🏼
