After the tornado event Tree Bros LLC. Was contacted for a storm damaged tree on a house. Upon arrival we noticed a couple of broken limbs in a white oak in between the houses. These broken limbs could turn into a zone for the (*fungus*) for oak wilt to enter. Currently we are in a red zone for oak wilt, because of this the D.E.C. has issued a do not trim on oaks until freezing temperatures. After some quick thinking on how to alleviate the hazard branches and provide the best outcome for both property owners and the tree. We applied a combination of Orange oil and Bees wax for the first layer. Both compounds have antibacterial and anti fungal properties. The second layer was hot paraffin wax to make a sealed physical barrier, until the wound on the tree can harden off and heal over. It's important for tree companies to think outside the box sometimes to provide the best care practices.
