A preview weekend ahead of the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art expansion opening June 6th.

We are grateful to everyone at , and especially to Alice Walton, Olivia Walton, and Rod Bigelow, for their vision and partnership in bringing this expansion to life.

The new galleries open up space for an expanded collection of American art, and one of the highlights of the weekend was meeting so many of the artists whose work now lives here.

It was an honor to share the moment alongside distinguished guests including President Bill Clinton and Secretary Hillary Clinton, Arianna Huffington, Martha Stewart and so many more.

From the Safdie Architects team, Partners Moshe Safdie, Chris Mulvey, and Jaron Lubin were on site with Principal Matt Longo to celebrate the building and the community gathered around it.

For everyone, a place to experience art, architecture, and nature together.

"Designed by the Boston-headquartered firm Safdie Architects, Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art consists of a series of concrete and glass structures linked by “bridges” over a natural ravine shaped into ponds and surrounded by woods and trails.

On 6 June, a new segment of the museum will open downstream, adding 114,000 sq. ft to allow more space for its growing collection and art-and-wellness programming," writes Scarlet Cheng for The Art Newspaper.

The 114,000-square-foot addition to Crystal Bridges brings a series of new pavilions to the museum.

Expanded galleries hold the growing permanent collection and large-scale temporary exhibitions.

A bridge displays sculpture, pottery and glass, and houses Quartz and Honey, a 40-seat café with open views of the grounds.

A dedicated 14,000-square-foot Learning and Engagement Hub adds room for education and community programs.

Building on the original design, the expansion extends Crystal Bridges’ integration of art, architecture, and nature.
