🚸Back-to-School Safety: Sharing the Road with Garbage Trucks

As students head back to school, our communities become busier, and safety becomes even more important during this time. Garbage trucks are essential to keeping neighborhoods clean, but they also operate with large blind spots and make frequent stops.

Let’s work together to keep kids safe by remembering these important tips:
Stay a safe distance away from garbage trucks—at least 10 feet
Never walk behind or alongside a truck when it’s operating
Make eye contact with the driver before crossing the street
Always use sidewalks and crosswalks when available

By staying aware and looking out for one another, we can help ensure every child gets to and from school safely.

As temperatures rise, staying hydrated is one of the most important ways to protect your health. Drinking enough water helps regulate body temperature, maintain energy levels, and keep your body performing at its best, especially during hot summer days or when spending time outdoors.

Don’t wait until you feel thirsty. Keep your favorite water bottle nearby (like ours below!), take regular breaks to hydrate, and choose water over sugary or caffeinated drinks whenever possible. Small, consistent sips can make a big difference.

Let’s make hydration a priority this summer and take care of ourselves and each other. Stay cool, stay safe, and drink up!
