It's the end of the season and we're getting the garden ready for winter. Part of the creating a pollinator habitat is giving the pollinators a place for them to exist in the winter. It never looks pretty, but it is both intentional and controlled.

I'm going to have to get creative for a way to hold the flowers out of the walkway. But in the last week, I've had 3 of my neighbors tell me how happy the garden makes them. So I still think I'm winning.

These are butterfly bushes. They are another great example of why you shouldn't judge a plant because"weed" is in its name. Milkweed is the *only* plant that monarch butterflies lay their eggs on. They are a perrenial, but completely die in the winter just to come back on the spring. I planted seeds in pots that used to be here last year. They didn't grow here last year. I guess some squirrels scattered the seeds for me. I'm not mad about it.

I've been so busy this week. Today's goal is to go out and trim back the walk way to the library. It grows so fast!

I did not plant the morning glories. The morning glories planted themselves. Morning glories are pretty, but they are vivacious and like spreading over everything they can.
