WERE BACK!

6 months off running for office gave me an even bigger appreciation for what I do every day. Grateful for all the community love along the way, but it feels good to be back in that blue collar mindset.

Bates Concrete Construction is fully open and ready for your next project. Big or small… if it’s concrete, we form it and pour it all!

From small sidewalks to 25ft retaining walls theres never a job too big or too small.

Ive been quiet for a few days, been caught up in this artwork of a hardscape.

I shouldve taken before pictures on this one, used to be a mangled asphalt driveway, that got ripped out, along with a small retaining wall and anything else In the way.

We formed and poured all of it bright and early this morning, couldnt have asked for a better day.

Today was a gorgeous day for a solo form and pour job.

I formed a ramp, step and sidewalk also poured and finished today

I havent been really active on here due to the mayor election and campaigning but today was a good one for sure.

Talk about a complete transformation.

Customer had a failing retaining wall that she desperately needed fixed.

So for the last two days I went solo... removed the retaining wall, dug out the bank, re formed and poured it solo today

I couldnt have asked for a better result and the customers were blown away

We got this monster on the ground today, we had to come up hill... if you're a concrere guy you understand the pain.

Everything turned out flawless from top to bottom..

We got out and slung a little mud today!

Didn't get a picture before the curing process started but we Slicked off this future covered breezeway and 30x40 garage slab.

We added 12ft of poly lok channel drain and sloped the whole floor to the drain.

Also we put in door recesses to ensure water never gets in the garage under the doors.

Today we poured these two porches 12x16 and a wider than normal sidewalk 6x82

Today was Career Day at the middle school, and it’s a day I won’t soon forget. There’s something special about planting seeds in young minds and showing them that with their own two hands, they can build something that lasts.

These students didn’t just watch….they got involved. From forming and grading to the final pour and finish, they were right there asking great questions and even helping me screed the concrete. It was a total community effort!!

A huge thank you to the Highway Department for donating the gravel.

IMI brought out a beautiful, shiny new truck that the kids loved.

And I think the highlight for many was getting to hop in my Bobcat!!

I was proud to donate the concrete for this project, but seeing those handprints pressed into the wet mud at the end is what really got to me. It’s a literal reminder that these kids are leaving a permanent mark on their school and their future.
In the trades, we don’t just build structures….we build legacies. So proud of these students today!

Also thank you Suzette Barnes for the opportunity to showcase my passion for the kids! It was truly an honor.

Today we poured a 20x40 pad and 6x16 apron.

Customer had a ton of issues with water going into their garage so we placed 2 drains to alleviate that issue.

Next the customer wanted a 20x30 gravel parking area for his tractor and attachments

Also the customer wanted their field leveled so I spent some time cutting everything down and brought in 2 loads of dirt to spread and level their field.

Big shout out to Jim Marla Beshearse for transporting the material for me, and holmes services for the high quality dirt jim hauled!

Today we completed this project for two amazing returning customers! Last winter we poured the garage, now we took it all the way to the road...

Couldn't have asked for a better day or a better crew... everything turned out perfect!

Continuing to Make dekalb more beautiful day by day 😉
