FREEZING TEMPS AHEAD❗️

Prevent Frozen Pipes
Take the following precautions to prevent your pipes from freezing:

1️⃣Allow a continuous trickle of water to flow through faucet(s)
2️⃣Seal any leaks around doors or windows to reduce drafts
3️⃣Open cabinet doors in the kitchen and bathrooms to allow the heat from the house to circulate
4️⃣Wrap interior piping running along outside walls with pipe insulation or heat tape.

One sign that your interior piping may be frozen: If you observe a reduced trickle of water from your faucet, don’t attempt to thaw a frozen pipe yourself using an open flame.

To our Village of Skokie and City of Evanston residents, we are aware that many residents are experiencing little to no water pressure in your homes. We have been notified by the Village of a significant water main break located at Emerson St. and East Prairie Rd that occured at 5:15 am. Please be advised that the Village is working on fixing the issue. In the meantime, there is a boil water order issued. • Bring all water to a boil, let it boil for five minutes, and let it cool before using, or use bottled water. Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and food preparation until further notice. Boiling kills bacteria and other organisms in water. Community members should avoid non-essential tap water use.

A few years ago we were shown on the camera that there was a break in the line from the house to the main... This year it had gotten to where it needed repair... We were told [lining] was an option.
