Looking at our next project, we have this clean retaining wall built using a unique type of wood called larch. In the harsh and ever-changing climate of Upstate New York, it’s important to invest in materials that can withstand snowy winters, rainy seasons, and even dry conditions.
One of the standout qualities of larch is its natural durability. The wood contains naturally occurring tannins that help protect it against moisture and decay, making it a great choice for outdoor projects exposed to changing weather conditions. Beyond its durability, the clean, natural appearance of larch takes this project to another level. Its warm wood tones create a finished product that is both functional and visually appealing.
Another key aspect of this project was finding a solution for a challenging landscape that previously prevented our customers from safely and efficiently using their shoreline. This retaining wall helps create a more functional and accessible space while complementing the surrounding landscape.
With trees, bushes, and plenty of greenery surrounding the property, the natural look of the larch allows the retaining wall to blend seamlessly with its environment. The result is a durable and practical solution without sacrificing the natural beauty of the shoreline.
