Howe team members sharpened their skills last week with hands-on telehandler training right in our own parking lot. Tool Manager Tom Dohlmann led the session, walking the team through maneuvering, load handling, and boom operation. A safety cone balanced on a pallet kept operators on their toes... precise control, tight positioning, real reps. That's how you build the kind of confidence that shows up on the jobsite.

From the mechanical room to the runway, there’s a lot happening at the Sioux Falls Regional Airport expansion.
Safety Manager Autume Hamner toured the project with Field Engineer Carson Guggisberg to observe site safety protocols firsthand while also getting an up-close look at the progress being made across the jobsite.
Howe is proud to contribute HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection expertise alongside The Weitz Company and Journey Group on this landmark project for the Sioux Falls Regional Airport Authority. Projects of this size and complexity require strong coordination, experienced tradespeople, and the ability to work efficiently in an active airport environment, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to have all our trades represented on a project of this scale.

“My experience at the PHCC was awesome. It was a great opportunity to meet other apprentices from around the nation and to have a chance to compete against them hands on. All in all, it was a great experience, and I am thankful to Howe for allowing me to have the opportunity to go there.”

Wesley recently represented Howe at the PHCC competition in Deadwood, where apprentices from across the country came together to test their skills in HVAC and plumbing challenges designed to reflect real-world scenarios. The event gave participants the opportunity to compete at a high level while connecting with other tradespeople from around the nation.
Wesley got his start in the trades through training at Southeast Tech and has been working in the HVAC field for just over three years. A Sioux Falls native, he takes pride in serving the community he calls home and continues to grow his skills through hands-on experience and opportunities like PHCC.
When he’s not on the job, Wesley enjoys hunting, fishing, golfing, and spending time with family and friends.
We’re proud of Wesley’s hard work, growth, and the way he represented Howe at the PHCC competition.
