How to care for your synthetic turf in the winter:

Your synthetic turf lawn or putting green is designed to withstand harsh winters. But here are a few tips to make sure your turf is in great shape come spring.

1. Before the snow flies, remove loose debris like leaves, branches, and rocks. Be sure to address any stains as well.
2. DO NOT shovel off your turf. If snow removal is necessary, opt for a handheld blower instead.
3. AVOID using salt or ice melt on the turf. Allow snow and ice to melt on their own (exercise your patience!).
4. After the snow melts and the temps warm up, call us to perform a spring maintenance! We’ll make sure your lawn or putting green is ready for another season of play.

How do synthetic turf putting greens hold up in the winter?

Our premium putting greens are built to handle winter conditions, including snow, freezing temps, and normal freeze and thaw cycles. The turf itself won’t be damaged by snow coverage, and the base is designed to drain properly as the snow melts.

After a long winter, we recommend a spring maintenance visit. This helps to refresh the surface. We brush the turf, check infill levels, and make sure drainage is optimal so your green is ready for play.
