South or west facing windows can bring a LOT of heat into your home during the summer ā˜€ļø

So instead of trying to manage the heat after it makes its way through the glass, we stop it before it gets there.

These exterior motorized blinds block the sun before it hits the windows, helping reduce heat gain, improve comfort, and reduce the amount of cooling your home needs.

Less heat gain -> smaller HVAC equipment -> lower energy use.

You can put blinds on the inside, but by then the sun has already hit the glass and transferred heat into the space between the glass and the blinds. Interior blinds can slow the heat from spreading into the room, but they canā€™t stop it from happening.

Exterior shades tackles the problem at the SOURCE.

Smart design isnā€™t always about adding more equipment, but about PREVENTING the problem in the first place šŸ‘

Electrical pe*******ons are small, but they still need to be sealed properly.

Here, weā€™re using a self-adhered gasket membrane around each wire to create a watertight and airtight seal before siding goes on.

Water is going to find its way behind behind the sidingā€¦what we donā€™t want is for it to get into the wall.

That is the whole idea behind a rainscreen, it gives the moisture a place to drain and allows the wall to dry.

Anywhere we have an electrical pe*******on, we take extra steps to make sure weā€™re not creating a path for water to get into the wall assembly.

Once the siding is on you wonā€™t see any of these steps, but itā€™s these small details that help the wall assembly perform the way it should.

The stone looks greatā€¦ but what happens when water gets behind it??

Thatā€™s where our rainscreen comes in.

Weā€™ve created a drainage path behind the stone so that moisture can get out instead of sitting against the sheathing and eventually creating problems down the road.

You wonā€™t see these details when the house is finished, but it is an important layer of the wall assembly. ļæ¼
