The roof is finished. The dumpster is still there. And we’re not quite done yet.

Talles explains to this Springfield homeowner that once the dumpster is removed, our team will return to the property for another final cleanup.

It’s an extra opportunity to go back over the areas around the home and make sure the property is left the way it should be.

For us, finishing the roof and finishing the job aren’t always the same thing.

This conversation went from air conditioning to barbecue pretty quickly.

Mitch starts the morning walkthrough by confirming the A/C is off so the crew can protect the unit during the roof replacement.

Then the homeowner mentions the smoker.

Next thing you know, they’re comparing grills, talking barbecue, and trying to find someone a free smoker.

Not every conversation on roofing day has to be about roofing. Sometimes getting to know the homeowner is half the fun.

Four skylights and a chimney means a few extra details to get right.

Before this Bristol roof replacement gets underway, Mitch walks everything over with the homeowner. The skylights will be squared up and replaced, while the existing chimney flashing will come off and be rebuilt with multiple layers of protection.

This is exactly why we do these morning walkthroughs.

Before the crew starts tearing anything off, everyone knows the plan and the homeowner knows what to expect.

This roof wasn’t very old—but the July hailstorm had other plans.

After sustaining hail damage, this Bristol home was ready for a new roof.

One day. One big transformation. Wait for the snap.

Some homes just need to be seen from above.

A fresh roof completely changes the look of this beautiful Simsbury home, and the drone gives us the perfect view of the work that goes into this project.

Clean lines, a beautiful property, and a brand-new roofing system protecting it all.

This one turned out great from every angle.

“I’m happy as heck. Are you kidding me?”

We’ll take that review.

Talles checks in one last time after finishing this Springfield roof replacement, and the homeowner makes it pretty clear how she feels about the finished project.

Before leaving, he also makes sure she knows what happens next and has his direct number if she ever has a question or concern.

A new roof is the finished product. A happy homeowner is the goal.

“Goodbye, old roof. It was time.”

The crew is getting started, the old roof is coming off, and Mitch takes a minute to introduce the homeowner to Manny before the conversation naturally turns to life outside of roofing.

Lake Champlain. Vermont. How long she’s lived in the house.

These are the little moments we like capturing too.

We’re there to replace a roof, but we’re also spending the day at someone’s home. Getting to know the people who live there is one of the best parts of the job.

“You did everything you said you were gonna do.”

Veronica admits she had some concerns before choosing a roofing company. Like a lot of homeowners, she’d heard enough stories to wonder who she could actually trust with her home.

Then the project was finished.

She saw the care that went into the work. She saw how thoroughly the property was cleaned. In her words, you “couldn’t even tell” we’d been there.

And when we asked if she’d choose Rhino Back again?

“Without a doubt… without hesitation.”

Thank you, Veronica, for trusting us with your Bloomfield home and for sharing your experience.

The roof isn’t the only thing we’re thinking about on installation day.

This Bristol homeowner has a composite deck directly below part of the work area, so before the tear-off begins, the plan is to cover it with plywood to help protect it from falling debris.

We also walk through what needs to be moved, what can stay, and anything else around the property that deserves extra attention.

A good roof replacement starts before anyone removes a shingle. It starts with protecting the home underneath it.

“Quite the show, huh?”

Sometimes it’s hard not to stop and watch.

During this Simsbury project, the homeowner tells Mitch how watching the roofing crew reminded her of having several large trees removed earlier in the year. Different trades, different equipment—but the same fascination with watching an experienced team make a difficult job look almost effortless.

These little conversations are one of our favorite parts of spending the day with homeowners.
