Live in Linn County and want to look for your septic records? They recently updated their record search page. I will work on updating our website with the correct link, but in the meantime, here it is below.

https://gis.co.linn.or.us/portal/apps/experiencebuilder/experience/?id=43884ae4977c426fb027d9b02081d49e

Start typing your address in the search box on the upper left of the map. It will auto populate options as your type, so when your address shows up, just click on it and it will zoom you to the property. Click anywhere except the dot and this will display a box with the property info to the left. If there are any septic records available, they will be listed under Septic Permit Images (click "Image" link).
You can also click to view all permits on the Accela website (onsite septic, building, etc).

The asbuilt drawing is the record on file for the septic that was installed and approved by the county. Typically, it will be with a signed, approved Certificate of Completion. There may be multiple if there was a major repair (such as a tank or drainfield replacement) so sometimes you have to sort through multiple records to puzzle together what is there. Styles of documents and details in the drawing vary in different decades so older records may not be as clear to follow.

As always, don't hesitate to reach out with any questions or if you would like your tank pumped.

How much do you know about your septic system? Perhaps you are new to having a septic system? Or, maybe you just never gave much thought to what happens to everything that goes down the drains in your home. Knowledge is power and understanding the basics will help you better maintain and protect your septic system, potentially saving your tens of thousands of dollars in the long run.

The National Onsite Wastewater Recycling Association (NOWRA) came out with an updated Septic System Users Guide. For some great detailed information on a wide variety of system types, take a look here. There are many pictures and diagrams, so you don't even have to worry about trying to understand a lot of long, complicated paragraphs!
