Accessories are the last layer we place, but they're never an afterthought. For this Breckenridge mountain home, that meant antler accents, layered throw pillows, table lamps, and a few carefully chosen objects that told the owners' story.

Same footprint. Completely different home.

This Breckenridge home had good bones. A stone fireplace, mountain views, a layout worth keeping. But the layout and the life being lived in it weren't quite matching up anymore.

We stayed within the footprint, but we did some massive layout changes.

Enlarged and added windows to bring in more light and expand the views. Turned a shared bathroom into an ensuite. Carved another ensuite out of storage space entirely. Doubled the kitchen by stacking the staircases. Expanded the primary suite and built a spa-like bath with dual showers, right off a new patio and sunken hot tub.

Every room got rethought from the floor plan out. Layout is where the real work happens. Finishes are just what you see after.

In case your interior designer didn't tell you: approving the design is not even the halfway point.

The design is done. Everything is specified and approved. Now someone has to actually make it happen.

That's Phase 3. We handle the furnishings purchasing, the coordination with your GC, the site meetings, the install.
All of it, in the right order, at the right time.

Good design makes people want to stay at the table longer.

For this Breckenridge home, we planned the dining space to flow directly into the kitchen so gatherings never feel split between two rooms. The live-edge table, the connected island seating, the views through every window. It all works together.

A well-planned layout does more for a dinner party than any centerpiece.

The vision matched the reality because the layout was right before we ever ordered a single piece of furniture.

This outdoor deck in Breckenridge was one of the spaces we planned most carefully on the SDA project. Seating zone, dining zone, sightlines to the tree line and peaks. Once the layout was locked, the rest followed. That is Summit County interior design working the way it should.

The most expensive mistake in outdoor design is buying furniture for a space you never actually measured for use.

Signing with a designer is one of the most strategic decisions you can make before a project starts.

Most people don't realize how much coordination a build or full remodel actually requires until they're in the middle of it. By then, the stress is already there. Getting a designer involved early means the decisions get sequenced, the trades stay aligned, and you're never left guessing what comes next or what something is going to cost you.
