Have you been following the farmer protests in Europe? France, Germany, Belgium, and now Canada have been affected among others. Farmers are protesting dramatic increases in the cost of energy, fertilizer, and transportation costs which have made it difficult to survive economically in recent years. These increases have driven inflation in food commodity prices. This is partially in response to environmental recommendations and policy changes made by the World Economic Forum, which farmers say will make it nearly impossible to continue to operate. These include ending fuel subsidies to farmers. How can we address the issues related to climate change without forcing agricultural producers out of business?
