Last Saturday our HR director, Nikki Perot, went Over the Edge! No, we did not drive her over, she volunteered to represent Jones Environmental, Inc. (JEI) by repelling 138ft down the facade of the newly renovated Fairmont Tower in our efforts to support Fuller House and in their Over the Edge fundraiser. This is just one of many ways our owners, and therefore our company, support the arts in our community and the revitalization of downtown. Thank you, Nikki, for your adventurous spirit and willingness to take the big step over.

Five of the ten deaths reported in Louisiana related to are from the use of portable power generators indoors. Never use generators indoors. This includes in a garage, carport, basement, crawl space or other enclosed or partially enclosed area, even those with ventilation.

Gas-powered generators produce an exhaust of carbon monoxide which is odorless and colorless. Inhaling carbon monoxide can rapidly lead to full incapacitation or death. Opening windows or doors or using fans will not prevent the build-up of carbon monoxide. If you start to feel sick, dizzy or weak while using a generator, get to fresh air IMMEDIATELY.

Be sure to place the generator away from doors, windows and vents that could allow CO to come indoors. Keep the generator dry and do not use in rain or wet conditions.
