I’ll sacrifice a few trampled blooms for the hardest working bug patrol this side of the Mississippi. These five ducks have kept our jungle of a yard virtually slug, tick, and grasshopper free all spring.

Portuguese egg tarts (Pastel de Nata) to ring in spring and the abundance of duck eggs on the counter. My dough lamination was off, but the custard filling carried the slack. Thanks to for the recipe. Inspiration to bake these stemmed from the scene in Poor Things where Emma Stone is shoving these little pastries into her mouth. Apparently she wasn’t acting; one is not enough.
