Quick assessment of the system operation. Pull the cover condenser already showing the failure code.
Capacitor is always the first culprit to check first.

High starting amps. 45 mfd reading only 10 mfd.

Swapped out started the system.. back in line.

Got love this time of year.. capacitors aren’t very happy and dying off one by one..

Be careful not to get scammed into replacing your HVAC system because of this failure.

I show the owner in real time the actual measurement of a new capacitor and the failed one. It good policy to help them understand what they are paying for and why.

Getting started on another installation. Mini split with 5 individual control heads. Customer didn’t have any ductwork or Air conditioning prior. Now they will get comfort high efficiency plus heat as bonus. The new splits are super efficient to -20 with a 23 SEER value. Super quite individually controlled.

Service checks and seasonal cleanings to units I installed back in 2007. One of the units was replaced 2 years ago.

Leaves and collected debris manage to get inside the condensers. Normal dirt and tree sap cling to the coil creating dirty path for air to flow.

Always keep in mind a dirty unit runs harder. Reduces efficiency. Cost more to operate.

In the fall and winter months lay a piece of plywood on top old to prevent leaves and debris from entering. Do not bag the unit completely from airflow. Good way to rot the enclosure cause more damage than good.
