Thought for the week:

Humility is not thinking less of yourself, it is thinking of yourself less.

It is good to look back occasionally and recognize all the things that you accomplish and all the good that you do.

Christmas time is a perfect time to step back for a bit, and look behind you to see how far you’ve come this year - to see the view from the mountain you’ve been climbing.

To see how much elevation you have actually gained, and to see the beauty in the things below. The rocks, the valleys, the ridges, the boulders, the flowers, the trails, the fog, the streams, the clouds - all the world below - that seemed so hard and exhausting in the journey, and sometimes seemed to be going nowhere.

But to see that you actually made progress, and gained a higher view, is what is important and what makes it worth it to keep going.
And to really recognize it, see the beauty in it all, and offer love and respect and admiration to yourself.

You do more than you realize. The climb isn’t always easy, but it is always worth it, and it is beautiful to turn around and just look and gaze and wonder and feel accomplishment in it all.

The good and the bad, the joy and the struggle, all have great purpose in the worth and glory of the destination.

So take a breath and just feel respect and gratitude for yourself, and for all that you have, and all you have experienced, and all you have done.

And never forget the One who gave you all, and continues to give. And who loves you enough to let you grow and become, who loves you enough to give you the mountain, and helps you climb it along the way.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

And as always, continue lighting the world around you!
From all of us at Electrical Support Services, and the Purcell family.

Thank you to all the moms! And thank you to all the dads who go and work hard every day also so that kids are able to feel love and hope and joy in the Christmas season. It’s all a group effort really. Grandparents, friends, aunts and uncles, neighbors, and good Christlike people who reach out and make an effort for others. All a part of the Christmas spirit with love and kindness and smiles and being God’s hands in this world. And giving proof that the little baby that was born many many years ago, in a humble setting, has purpose and meaning in our lives. May we never take lightly that sacred event, and the sacred life of Jesus Christ who was born for us, lived for us, and died for us, so that we could feel real joy and be with our families forever.

At the end of this unusual, strange, difficult, eye opening, soul searching and unprecedented year, we are grateful for all the good works we were able to accomplish this year as a business. ESS flies on the wings of all the wonderful men and their supporting families that are a part of it. From the wonderful employees, to the man who keeps this engine running, Brent; to the great customers and contractors we get to work with, and to a gracious and merciful Father in Heaven who fills in the cracks when we may fall short. The works we put forth were good. The world is now filled with a bit more light than when we started this year. We look forward to another fresh new year of good works to be accomplished.
“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”
Matthew 5:16
Merry Christmas!
