Abacus Architects, Inc.

Abacus Architects, Inc. Relational architecture means we don’t just design buildings—we build relationships. It’s only fundamental.

At Abacus Architects, we believe in architecture for all—building together toward a shared vision. RELATIONAL ARCHITECTURE

Designing buildings that connect with their communities. Creating places that inspire, enrich, or simply work well is vitally important to us. In fact, every project we pursue is based on our ability to enhance community life. At Abacus Architects, we design to build relationships between people and their environments. Architecture should serve the people who inhabit the places we create, not the other way around. It’s architecture for all of us, building together to reach a common goal.

Community Impact Spotlight | Fresh Meals On Wheels of Sheboygan County, Inc.

The impact of a project doesn't end when the building is complete.

Fresh Meals on Wheels plays an important role in our community, providing nutritious meals while creating meaningful connections and helping individuals maintain their independence.

Our relationship with Fresh Meals on Wheels extends beyond architecture. We had the privilege of designing a space that supports the people, volunteers, and daily operations behind their mission, and we're grateful to remain involved in the organization today.

For us, this is what Relational Architecture is all about. It's not simply about designing buildings. It's about building lasting relationships and investing in the people and organizations that make our communities stronger.

We're grateful for our relationship with Fresh Meals on Wheels and proud to support the work they do every day.

A great afternoon celebrating growth, leadership, and the future of business in southeastern Wisconsin.

Today, Eric Halbur, CEO, Joel VanEss, CFO, and David VanDixhorn, CDO, represented Abacus Architects at the Milwaukee Business Journal Future 50 Awards Luncheon, where Abacus was honored as a 2026 Future 50 company.

We’re grateful for this recognition and especially thankful for the clients, partners, and team members who have played a part in our continued growth. As we look ahead, we’re excited to keep building relationships, investing in our communities, and creating spaces that make a lasting impact.

Thank you to BizTimes Milwaukee for this recognition and for bringing together so many businesses and leaders who are helping shape the future of our region.

Rendering Spotlight | Lake Geneva Residence Addition

Sometimes, creating the right home doesn't mean starting over. It means thoughtfully building upon what's already there.

This Lake Geneva residence addition was designed to expand the home's functionality while complementing the character of the existing residence. The 1,940-square-foot first-floor addition introduces a new bedroom, bathroom, and additional living space, giving the homeowners more room for everyday life.

Through thoughtful planning and a cohesive approach to the architecture, the new and existing spaces are designed to feel like one home rather than two separate pieces.

Every home and every family has different needs. Our job is to listen, understand those needs, and find a design solution that feels uniquely theirs.

Happy National Construction Appreciation Week 🔨👷‍♀️

This week, we recognize the contractors, tradespeople, craftspeople, and construction professionals whose skill, dedication, and hard work bring projects to life every day.

From problem-solving in the field to the craftsmanship behind every detail, construction is truly a team effort. Thank you to the people who build the spaces where we live, work, learn, gather, and grow.

We appreciate all that you do to build stronger communities.

Sometimes, the smallest details make the biggest impact.

As our new Milwaukee office continues to take shape, our Interior Design team is bringing personality into the space through thoughtful finishes, materials, and fixtures, including this bold orange faucet from KOHLER.

Details like this are an opportunity to have a little fun with design while creating a space that reflects who we are as a firm. We can't wait to show you how all of these details come together.

⛳ A great day on the course!

Andy, Kurt, Sam, and Justin represented Abacus at the annual Sheboygan County Chamber Golf Outing last week. It’s always a great opportunity to get out of the office while connecting with fellow Chamber members.

Abacus was also proud to support this year’s outing as a Golf Ball Sponsor!

Thanks to the Sheboygan County Chamber of Commerce for another great event and a fun day on the course!
