MY ROLE 👷🏼‍♀️
I'm a product technician II, and I'll start my 9th year with Schier on June 27, 2026.

CULTURE 🤝
My favorite things about my job are my coworkers and the P.T.I. process. (product technician improvement ideas). Manufacturing engineers are engaged with builders and respect our ideas, experience, opinions and insight. So we are able to collaborate to find simple solutions.

INTERESTS 🧵
Sewing, textile arts, upcycling clothing—especially jeans—and gardening. I also enjoy reading about and watching true crime, forensic science, and military sightings of unknown anomalous phenomena.

TRAVEL ✈️
If I could travel anywhere, it would be to Botswana for a safari. And Hawaii for the natural beauty and laid back culture.

Schier now has 26 employees who are fully vested in our Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). To celebrate this milestone, we have gifted each of these individuals a custom Schier-branded vest.

Being fully vested in our ESOP means an employee has earned 100% ownership of the shares allocated to their account. This achievement helps ensure that Schier’s ownership, purpose, and culture remain intact across generations.

Meet Bob Lafferty – photographer, designer, and videographer on Schier’s marketing team.

MY ROLE 📸
I love the variety of work I’m challenged with every day. I get to create jobsite photos, employee portraits, brochures, catalogs, web images, illustrations, environmental signage, and product packaging. I’m excited to be shooting and editing videos now. Learning something new is challenging, but I’ve wanted to do video production for a long time.

CULTURE 🤝
Every day, I get to work with a team that is supportive, collaborative, and makes work a lot of fun. After working in the plumbing industry for more than 20 years, including seven at Schier… it’s nice to work for an employee-owned company that focuses on the right things.

INTERESTS 🏠
My wife, Colleen, and kids, Leo, Finn, Mae, and Rose, keep me pretty busy. The kids play soccer, volleyball, basketball, and flag football, run track, and perform in plays and musicals. We love living in our midtown KCMO neighborhood. I enjoy cooking and baking when I get the chance.

FUN FACT 🇸🇪
I had the opportunity to study in Sweden for a semester in college. I believe every experience has the chance to shape who you are, and those four months in 1992 certainly did. My time in Sweden fueled my love for travel, for experiencing different cultures, for cold weather, and for eating weird fish.

Here's a fresh Schier install at Flow Grocer Downtown Miami 🌴 A brand-new GB-75 grease interceptor, SI-50 solids interceptor, and SV10 inspection port are installed and ready to intercept fats, oils and grease while providing clear visibility into the effluent wastewater.

The Schier sales team is staying busy this week, traveling across the U.S. to talk to customers, key decision makers, and code authorities about our lifetime guaranteed and performance tested grease interceptors. We're also hosting engineers from North West Arkansas and Chicago to tour our plant and discuss the benefits of sizing their grease interceptor projects with Grease Monkey, America's most trusted sizing tool.
