Sunbelt Transformer's Rental Division team is here to help you 24/7 with all of your electrical rental needs! Contrary to our name, we provide more than just transformers. We can provide individual items or packages including: breakers, disconnects, transfer switches, motor starters, distribution panels, switchboards, cable junction boxes, cable and complete portable substations. In early 2018, a utility company approached our team about a portable substation rental. The customer already had a fleet of their own substations; however, they were interested in a rental option for planned outage work, so they could save their own equipment for true emergencies. They needed a “turnkey” portable substation that could be installed in a narrow footprint. We quickly put together a solution that met their needs and had the unit delivered on time and on budget. They sought a “one stop shop” approach where their involvement would be minimal once the site preparation work was taken care of, and we were able to fulfill this request.

The complete substation was delivered in three separate pieces (High Voltage Skid, Transformer and Low Voltage Skid). It was pre-assembled before delivery and then reassembled onsite with interconnection wiring, breaker relaying, etc. The entire
set-up process was coordinated with the customer’s relay team.

This unit will remain on rent for approximately 4 months while the customer performs work on the existing substation.
