🎉 Project Win Announcement!
We’re excited to share that The Ruhlin Company has been selected for the Ohio Turnpike Commission Bridge Repair Project over Mahoning Avenue (M.P. 219.8) in Mahoning County, Ohio.

The project will address critical structural needs through heat-straightening and targeted replacement of sections of Girder 3 on the mainline bridge. Construction is scheduled to start this fall, with completion anticipated by mid-December 2026.

🚂 Project Highlight: Norfolk Southern Chillicothe Rail Outage

Watch The Ruhlin Company in action as our team removed an existing railroad bridge built in 1911 and installed a new 505,000-pound bridge span in under 24 hours!

Using a custom-designed steel roll-in track, Ruhlin successfully completed this complex bridge replacement from start to finish during the rail outage.

The Ruhlin Company’s Structural Division was recently awarded the Norfolk Southern bridge upgrade over East Bridge Street in Elyria, Ohio.

The project includes approximately 1.7 million pounds of new structural steel, rehabilitation of the existing abutments, and construction of a new center pier. The new bridge will be built on the same alignment and grade as the existing structure—while maintaining uninterrupted train traffic throughout construction.

The Ruhlin Company was recently awarded the ODOT 260327 project along Interstate 90 in Cuyahoga County.

The project’s primary scope of work includes the replacement of the existing concrete median barrier along IR 90, along with several critical infrastructure improvements:

• Comprehensive highway lighting upgrades
• Targeted drainage repairs
• Replacement of overhead sign structures
• Complete guardrail replacements

This project represents another significant investment in the safety, reliability, and long-term performance of the I-90 corridor in Cuyahoga County.

The Ruhlin Company successfully completed the Medina Municipal Court renovation, celebrating the milestone with a ribbon-cutting ceremony last week.

Ruhlin was proud to serve as Construction Manager at Risk (CMR) on this important project—delivering a modernized courthouse while thoughtfully integrating major upgrades within a historic building. Key improvements include a new elevator, rooftop HVAC units, and a technology-enhanced courtroom to better support court operations and staff.

The renovated courthouse also features:
• Separate public and staff circulation
• Secure elevators and transport corridors for movement from the Medina County Jail
• Individual offices for judicial officers

💥 A Major Milestone on Route 8!

The Ruhlin Company and Great Lakes Construction Joint Venture successfully demolished the existing Route 8 bridge on Sunday, September 27.

This milestone clears the way for the next phase of the project: construction of the twin sister span bridge.

Demolition highlights:
• 128 linear-shaped charges
• 440 milliseconds to detonation
• 150 decibels of sound
• 5,244,508 pounds of steel brought down in seconds

For the fourth consecutive year, Jim Ruhlin Jr., Brady Oaks, Steve Feix, and Alex Licitri rode with the Wheels of Steel Team, joining more than 4,000 cyclists for the Cleveland Clinic’s 2026 VeloSano Bike to Cure Cancer in Cleveland on Saturday, September 19th. The Wheels of Steel team raised $178,163 and ranked an impressive 5th overall among teams. While this year’s fundraising total has not yet been announced, last year’s event raised $14.5 million to support cancer research at the Cleveland Clinic and advance the fight against cancer. What a day—celebrating the grand reopening of Fenn Tower with an official ribbon cutting.

Ruhlin is proud to have served as CMR for the Fenn Tower Renovation, delivering critical exterior structural repairs to the brick façade and steel frame, along with major building-wide upgrades. Our team improved mechanical systems, refreshed every student room, and updated public spaces throughout the building.

Bringing this 1930s landmark back into active use has been a true labor of love. With a new purpose, Fenn Tower is ready to serve CSU’s first-year students for decades to come.

Thank you to CSU and to our trade partners and subcontractors for the collaboration and craftsmanship that brought this building back to life.

The 11th Annual Ruhlin Clays Classic was a tremendous success, thanks to the support of our shooters, sponsors, and volunteers. With 28 teams and 168 shooters, participation was exceptional. Ruhlin is proud to support Cleveland Clinic Akron General and strengthen our local community through this event.
