Congratulations to The Ruhlin Company on being selected as Construction Manager at Risk (CMR) for the $80M Mineral Ridge Dam Rehabilitation Project—an important infrastructure investment for the Mahoning Valley Sanitary District.

This project will modernize a 90-year-old Class I dam, enhancing safety and reliability for more than 220,000 residents across multiple communities. Key improvements include replacing aging spillways, stabilizing embankments, upgrading instrumentation, improving access roads, and strengthening critical concrete structures.

It’s great to see continued investment in infrastructure that supports both public safety and long-term regional growth.

Wednesday was Go Orange Day, the centerpiece of National Work Zone Awareness Week. You’ll saw the Ruhlin team—and thousands of others across the country—trading our usual gear for as much orange as we can find. But this day is about much more than a color.

Why it matters:
🚧 Visibility is Life: Orange has been the national standard for traffic safety since 1964 because it stands out against any background, alerting drivers to a human presence.
🚧 A Symbol of Support: We wear orange to show solidarity with our roadway professionals, like Ed, Darren, Quwanda, and Chris, who work just feet away from live traffic every day.
🚧 Honoring the Fallen: Most importantly, we wear orange to honor the families of those who have lost their lives in work zone incidents. In 2023 alone, 899 people died in work zones—a number we are determined to see reach zero.

Safety isn't just a Ruhlin goal; it’s a shared responsibility. When you see orange, let it be a reminder to slow down, put the phone away, and stay alert.

Join us in painting the timeline orange! Post your photos using the hashtags below to show our crews that you have their backs.

As we start to wrap up National Work Zone Awareness Week, we’re proud to feature Chris Rivera from the Ruhlin Company team. Chris understands that while individual vigilance is vital, true safety in a work zone comes from every person—on the crew and behind the wheel—doing their part.

For Chris, "Safe Actions, Save Lives" isn't just a theme; it’s the standard he brings to the job site every day. Whether he's coordinating with his teammates or keeping a watchful eye on the flow of traffic, Chris knows that the best project is one where everyone gets home safely at the end of the day.

How you can support Chris Rivera and the crew:
🚧Stay Alert: Work zones can change in an instant. Keep your eyes on the road.
🚧Respect the Flaggers: They are there to guide you safely through the zone.
Thank you, Chris, for your dedication, your teamwork, and your commitment to making our roads—and our work zones—safer for everyone.
