These are photos from a job we inspected today. The homeowners were told by another newer company in the area that they could simply spray for mold, install a v***r barrier, and they would be good to go.

Unfortunately, it’s not that simple. You can’t repair wood that has deteriorated to this extent. The damaged wood needs to be properly replaced. The good news is that, in many cases, damage like this can be prevented by addressing moisture and crawlspace issues before they get this bad.

When hiring a foundation repair company, do your research and get multiple estimates so you can compare the proposed repairs, experience, warranties, and overall value.

Over the past five years, we can think of at least eight new foundation repair companies that have entered our area. None of them are still in business. Many offered lifetime warranties, but a warranty doesn’t mean much if the company is no longer around to stand behind it.

Another important thing to consider is pricing. If you get three estimates and two are relatively close while the third is significantly lower that should raise a red flag. Make sure you understand exactly what is included in each proposal and why the prices are different.

At Latimer Foundation Repair, we believe experience matters, quality matters, and your warranty should be backed by a company that plans to be here for the long haul.

Today, we started a complete floor system replacement in Amory!

This home will receive all new floor joists, subfloor, beams, support pillars, and a full crawlspace encapsulation.

Did you know that many floor system failures can be prevented by addressing moisture and humidity problems in your crawlspace early? In many cases, preventative crawlspace work can cost about half as much as replacing a damaged floor system.

Don’t ignore crawlspace issues until they become major problems. Give us a call today for a free inspection!
