❤️ The Other Half of This Small Business

Today, we're taking a break from wells and pumps to show a little appreciation for someone who deserves it — my wife, Jennifer Recalde-Chucta!

Running a small business isn't always a 9-to-5 job. When the phone rings after hours, on weekends, or in the middle of our plans, she knows I may have to drop everything and head out the door. And through it all, she's always understanding and supportive.

But Jennifer's so much more than the one holding things down at home. She's an incredible nurse who goes above and beyond for others. When she's not working, you'll probably find her in the garden or wandering our farm, picking fresh berries and herbs. 🌿🫐

Just look at that smile! Sometimes it's the simplest things that bring the most happiness.

Jennifer, thank you for always being in my corner, understanding the demands of this business, and supporting what we're building together. I couldn't do it without you. ❤️

Now it's your turn! 👇 Who's the behind-the-scenes person who always has your back? Give them a shoutout in the comments. Let's spread a little appreciation today!

🔎💧 On Today’s Edition of “Where’s My Well?” — Seymour!

Since we were working close by, we brought the machine along for this one.

This homeowner was concerned about her aging jet pump system and pressure tank, so she decided it was time for an upgrade. First things first—we had to find the well!

Once we located it, we pulled the old lines and found the tank had a plugged inlet, and the jet pump had definitely seen better days.

From there, we:
💧 Installed a new submersible well pump
🔧 Replaced the pressure tank in the basement
💦 Ran a new ¾” water line and new wire
♻️ Used the old pipes as conduit for the new line and wiring

That means everything from the well to the house is now updated and ready to go.

The old system served this homeowner for decades. Here’s hoping the new one gives her another 40 years!

📞 Worried about an aging well pump or pressure tank? Call Chucta Company at 203-906-6765. We’ll help you figure out what’s going on and offer the best solution available.

💧 New Well Hookup in Redding!

We were originally recommended to come out for a well inspection, but after taking a closer look, we found the existing well used an older jet pump system and was barely producing water.

Normally, we would have considered deepening the existing well, but one big problem stood out: the well was located in the basement! That meant it was time for a new well.

The trench kept things interesting, too. We hit ledge along the way and had to work carefully around an existing drainage pipe, but we got it done, reached the right depth, and hooked up the new well.

Sometimes a well inspection uncovers a little more than expected, but we’ll always find the best way forward to get the job done right. 💧

💧 Tank Replacement in Oxford!

We originally installed this tank back in the late ’90s! While we were out for service, we noticed the tank wasn’t acting quite right and found a plugged inlet.

Older tanks used steel inlets, and when steel comes into contact with a brass or copper tank tee, it can cause a reaction called electrolysis. Take a look at the photos—you can see the buildup inside both 1” fittings. They were plugged down to an opening about the size of a pencil!

Today’s tanks use stainless steel inlets, which help prevent this problem.

Another day, another quality Chucta Company installation built to last for decades. 💪💧

🌧️ A Saturday nor’easter emergency pump replacement in Oxford!

This was a new customer whose usual company wouldn’t come out during the storm. Fortunately, we understand that when you’re without water, waiting until Monday isn’t always an option.

We made it happen. 💪

We keep direct replacement pumps in stock and ready to go, so we got out there, replaced the failed pump, and got their water back up and running.

Rain, wind, or a Saturday emergency? Chucta Company is ready when you need us most! 💧

💧 Pump Replacement in Shelton!

This one came with a little history!

My father and I originally installed this pump back in 2004 — more than 20 years ago. It was a Myers Rustler, and these pumps were known for being incredibly tough. They just lasted and lasted.

In fact, they lasted so long that our supplier eventually stopped carrying them! Chucta Company was one of the only companies still buying them, and our small operation simply couldn’t purchase enough to make it worthwhile for the supplier to keep the line.

More than two decades later, we finally pulled this one out and replaced it. It’s pretty amazing to think about how many Rustlers we installed over the years compared to how few we’ve actually had to pull back out.

Sometimes the old equipment really was built to last! 💪💧

💧 Surprise shallow well in Oxford!

This customer was getting air in their water lines, and we traced the problem back to a bad leak in the well.

We were told the well was more than 400 feet deep with at least a 1-horsepower pump, so we set up the pump puller expecting a pretty deep pull. Surprise! The pump was only 120 feet down!

The pump had been in place since 2007. Rather than replacing just the check valve, the customer decided to replace the entire pump while we had it out. At nearly 20 years old, it made sense to take care of it now instead of risking another problem down the road.

Another no-water problem found, fixed, and back up and running in Oxford. 💧🔧 Call us at 203-906-6765 for reliable well water service!

A slower afternoon means there’s always something else to get done! 🪵

We used a little downtime to split some firewood and get a few things done around the shop. Even the old man had to stop by to see what we were up to! 😂

Around here, there’s never really a “slow” day — just a chance to tackle the next job.

🌧️ Rainy Day No Water Call in Bethany!

Yesterday afternoon’s no water call turned into a pump replacement. Luckily, we had the direct replacement on the truck, so we removed the old pump and installed the new one right away—no waiting around for parts.

Once everything was installed, we ran the water until it cleared and sent it back into the house.

And let’s just say… everyone was pretty excited to be able to flush the toilets again! 😂🚽

Another no water call handled with everything we needed right on our warehouse on wheels.
