This is what we pulled out of a home during a partial sewer re-pipe job this week.
The first two photos show a cast-iron drain pipe that's cracked completely open — you can see the heavy rust buildup inside. Cast iron was the standard for decades, and when it goes, it goes fast. Cracks, leaks, and slow drains are usually the first signs.
The last two photos are the inside of galvanized pipe — look at that opening. What should be a full pipe diameter is nearly blocked solid with mineral deposits and corrosion. That's not a clog you can snake away. That's a pipe that's had it.
If your home was built before the 1980s and you're dealing with slow drains, gurgling sounds, or recurring backups, there's a good chance your pipes look something like this. An inspection can tell you exactly where you stand — no guessing, no pressure.

This customer was dealing with a sewer main that had become completely clogged with tree roots. Over time, roots found their way into the pipe, causing repeated backups and restricting the flow.

Our crew excavated the damaged section, removed the root-infested pipe, and installed new Schedule 40 PVC to restore the sewer line the right way—not just as a temporary fix.
