Nothing adds excitement to a renovation timeline quite like a baby on the way!

We were finishing this client’s primary bathroom when baby number three decided it was time to arrive. Our team jumped in, wrapped up the final details, and finished just hours before they came home.

The best part? They recently reached out for help with another project. There’s no better compliment than being invited back into a client’s home. We’re grateful for the trust and the relationships we get to build along the way.

Where do we find design inspiration? These are a few of the designers, builders, and architects whose work continually inspires us.

From thoughtful interiors and timeless materials to beautiful architecture and craftsmanship, these accounts are always worth a follow:

Great design is often about paying attention—studying what works, appreciating the details, and finding inspiration in the people doing incredible work in the industry.

Who’s on your must-follow design list?

Painted brick or natural? Quartz or marble? Light or dark floors? Let’s talk design.

Some choices are easy. Others come down to the details that make a home feel like home.

For us, great design is about more than picking finishes. It’s the materials, architectural details, proportions, trim, doors, hardware, and all those little decisions that work together to give a home character.
And one piece of advice we’ll always stand behind? Hire a designer early in the building process. 😉

Most clients don’t come to us with all the design words, and they don’t need to.

Instead, they tell us how they want their home to feel. They share an experience, a memory, a mood, or even a few things they know they love. Our job is to listen closely and start pulling those pieces together.

We also love incorporating natural materials that age beautifully over time. The goal isn’t just to create something that looks good the day you move in. It’s to create a home that still feels beautiful and intentional years from now.

You bring the feeling. We’ll help turn it into a home.

Great design doesn’t start with trends. It starts with understanding why spaces feel the way they do.

From favorite design books to historic architecture and details we notice in old buildings, we’re always learning from what has stood the test of time. Windows, doors, lighting, proportions, and materials all play a part in giving a home its character.

Inspiration is great, but there’s also so much to learn from the history of design and architecture. Understanding why certain details work helps us make thoughtful choices for the homes we’re designing today.

Most people think construction begins when the equipment arrives.
We see it differently.

Before a home ever breaks ground, there's planning, site evaluations, permits, zoning, budgeting, and countless conversations. Every hour spent around the blueprints helps create a smoother building process later.

The strongest homes are built on more than a foundation, they're built on a solid plan.

What's one part of the homebuilding process you've always been curious about? Let us know in the comments.

Building starts long before the foundation is poured.

Before construction begins, there's planning, surveys, permits, zoning, and countless details working behind the scenes. A strong preconstruction process helps keep your project on track from day one.

At Highland Proper Homes, we believe great builds start with great planning.
