WANTED SUSPECT APPREHENDED IN NEW JERSEY FOR R**E OF A CHILD

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office announces the apprehension of Toyin Adekale Patterson, who was wanted in Jefferson County in connection with a charge of R**e of a Child.

As part of efforts to locate Patterson, he was entered as a wanted person, and information concerning his vehicle was entered into the Flock Safety camera system on Friday afternoon.

The investigation led to a collaborative effort with law enforcement agencies in Union County, New Jersey. Patterson’s vehicle was initially detected by a Flock camera in Scotch Plains, New Jersey.

Information concerning the vehicle was shared with neighboring agencies. Officer Christopher Pineiro of the Fanwood Police Department subsequently observed the vehicle traveling in Fanwood following an alert from the Flock system and conducted a traffic stop and Patterson was taken into custody.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office extends its appreciation to the Scotch Plains Police Department and Fanwood Police Department for their cooperation and assistance in locating and apprehending Patterson.

This remains an active criminal case. All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
