Calling out to all of our wonderful volunteers….This Saturday October 3 is our VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION/ANNUAL MEETING! We will meet indoors in a room behind the band shell (Carrie Blake Park) at 11:00 AM. If you have helped us in the last year, please join us so we can properly thank you for your service to the garden. And for those who want to find out more about the garden, this would be a great opportunity to meet some fellow gardeners and find out how you can help make our garden the best it can be. No work…just a chance to chat about our garden, have some refreshments and pat ourselves on the back for a job well done for 2026. AND there will be some great door prizes! Here's A Look At What's Blooming Today October 1st, 2026!

There are some Yellow Roses that are still blooming.

The Fall Crocus are in full bloom and give a lovely pop of purple.

The Dahlias are still blooming and looking amazing! There are so many beautiful varieties. Including the return of my personal favorite, Crème de Cassis. There had been 1 plant several years ago and literally disappeared overnight. I was excited to see it back this season.

The terrace level that was planted last year looks spectacular.

2 varieties of Honeysuckle are in full bloom on the arches at the top of the stairs.

The volunteers have been busy spreading new bark and labeling many of the varieties of Dahlias.

If you can visit in person I encourage you to do so often. If that isn't an option stay tuned right here and enjoy the beauty from the comfort of your home.

The gardens are maintained by an all volunteer crew. New volunteers are always welcome. Work party information is posted on this page.

We had a great time creating and sharing at the “Fun with Pressed Flowers “ class last Saturday. Although the turn out was not as expected, those who came had a blast creating their masterpieces. We were all super impressed with the hummingbird and the butterfly! Excellent! 🌼🌺🌸🌻🦋

It has been an epic year in the Sequim Botanical Garden! We hit so many milestones with the help of our fabulous volunteers. It is time to celebrate! We will be hosting our annual meeting and VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION party on Saturday October 3 at 11:00 AM at the terrace garden in Carrie Blake Park. We welcome all of our volunteers to come and enjoy some refreshments and be congratulated for all of your help through out the year. We also would love to meet new folks who have considered helping in the garden and would like to find out more. Anyone new to town…this is an excellent way to meet new people and join our community. We will have some good eats and also some DOOR PRIZES to give away! If the weather does not cooperate, we will move the festivities indoors either under the band shell or in an adjoining room. So rain or shine….please come and join us! Did I mention food and door prizes?! 🌼🌺🌸🌻🪻🌷

FUN WITH PRESSED FLOWERS! Learn a few tricks of pressing flowers from your garden and crafting with them too! It is a fun and easy process and the results allow you to preserve the season and create some amazing art! Saturday, September 26, 10:00 AM at the Sequim Botanical Garden Terrace garden in Carrie Blake Park. Space is limited so please RSVP in the comments and number your place as the comments indicate. ie…check the comments and if the comment before you is #4 then you are #5. I hope that makes sense! Here's A Look At What's Blooming Now!

The Dahlias are blooming and looking amazing! There are so many beautiful varieties. Including the return of my personal favorite, Crème de Cassis. There had been 1 plant several years ago and literally disappeared overnight. I was excited to see it back this season. There is 1 bloom currently and it a stunningly gorgeous!

The Pink and Yellow Roses are still blooming. The fragrance is amazing as you walk the stairs between the levels.

The terrace level that was planted last year looks spectacular.

2 varieties of Honeysuckle are in full bloom on the arches at the top of the stairs.

The volunteers have been busy spreading new bark and labeling many of the varieties of Dahlias.

I even found an Iris that was blooming beautifully.

Sadly there were no Sunflowers to shoot because someone came in and cut almost all of them for themselves.
The gardens are for everyone’s enjoyment. Nowhere does it say “you cut” is an option.

Very sad news to report….we had a row of fabulous tall sunflowers growing and producing seeds for the birds and for next years flowers and SOMEONE cut the tops off of 25 of them and stole them! Who would do this? Only 2 sunflowers remain. This will be reported to the police. It is very troubling to know that we have to deal with this problem. We are reporting it here on Facebook so the public is aware as well. The flowers are placed in the garden for viewing….not for picking! Most people respect that. Unfortunately we will have to be mindful of this happening when we plan future garden additions. ☹️😤😔🌻

Here's A Look At What's Blooming Now!

Afternoon rains had me on the way to the gardens once the showers had passed.
I love the soft light and the possibility of rain-drops on flowers. I hit the rain-drop jackpot!

If you have never seen “Strawberry Shake” Hydrangea here is your chance. They are quite “floofy” and greet you as you come into the gardens from the parking lot.

The newest bench in the Terrace Garden at Sequim's Carrie Blake Park/Water Demonstration Site was donated by her husband...

The newest bench in the Terrace Garden at Sequim's Carrie Blake Park/Water Demonstration Site was donated by her husband in memory of Donni Hatlestad. Donni was instrumental in the formation of a group of Master Gardeners who shared a vision with the City of Sequim for demonstration gardens to be created on the acres adjoining Carie Blake Park. Donni was on the leadership board which formed in 2007, designing the proposed Garden. Over almost twenty years, she was also a dedicated volunteer, putting in many hours of physical labor where her bench now sits—planting, weeding, putting in water lines, creating walkways, giving demonstrations and talks about the Garden plants, sharing her knowledge of horticulture and garden design. Her heritage, of an organization that maintains the Garden today, inspiring many local gardeners and sharing the beauty of flowers and gardens, is a mirror of her generous, creative, sparkling, loving self. Thank you, Donni and Bob.
