GALBRAITH MOUNTAIN CLOSED AUGUST 24–25
Galbraith Mountain will be closed to recreational access Monday, August 24, and Tuesday, August 25, while Janicki Logging & Construction conducts targeted roadside herbicide treatment.
Application will be made by truck along the Mainline and select spur roads—approximately half of Galbraith’s 25-mile road system—to help control invasive blackberry, Scotch broom and grasses. Trails and trail corridors will not be treated, except where they intersect treated roadways.
The full mountain closure, coordinated with WMBC, will provide separation between recreational users and application crews. Closure signs will be posted at the primary access points.
Galbraith is scheduled to reopen Wednesday, August 26. Treatment is weather dependent, and any significant schedule changes will be communicated as needed.
After reopening, visitors should not pick or eat wild blackberries growing along treated roadways.
