Overview:
You will be working under the direction of project supervisors or experienced crew members. You must be willing to maintain a constant work ethic to complete assigned tasks to stay on schedule. Projects are both indoors and outdoors, work in all weather conditions is expected. Transition construction completes a large variety of construction related work. You must be willing to do all types of construction related work or tasks to insure the completion of projects and to serve our customers’ requests. The common types of work will include: caulking, painting, demolition, siding, drywall finishing, framing, concrete, trim, cleaning, moving furniture, roofing, heavy lifting, prepping such as paper, tape, and plastic, using equipment. We are looking forward to relationships with hard-working, eager, talented, and dedicated individuals.
Responsibilities:
The ability to safely and efficiently operate a variety of small and large power tools, and basic construction hand tools.
The ability to read and thoroughly understand blueprint information and effectively produce and install components in compliance with such information as directed.
The ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions.
The ability to deal with problems created by variables from standard situations.
The ability to lead other skilled and non-skilled workmen in performance of construction tasks.
Comply with all company policies, safety rules and regulations.
Utilize organizational skills in respect to jobsite organization, crew management, product scheduling, and required record keeping.
Performs other duties as required and assigned
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Basic knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of buildings.
Basic knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
Ability to understand, follow and transmit verbal instructions in English
Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance
Ability to identify problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
Skills in manual dexterity, including to quickly move hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects
Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely
Attention to detail skills and thorough in completing work tasks
Ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials
Ability to use hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things
Ability to lift 35-40 pounds consistently and 70 pounds occasionally with assistance; proper lifting techniques required
Ability to stand for long periods of time - approximately 95-100% of time on the job is spent standing up
Ability to travel to and from job site as required
