Before colder weather moves in, take a few minutes to give your home a once-over. Here’s what to look for:
1) Shingle damage: From the ground, look for missing, cracked, curled, or lifted shingles. Even minor damage can leave your roof more vulnerable to rain, wind, snow, and ice.
2)Critters: Fall is when squirrels and other animals start looking for cozy places to get out of the cold.
3) Water stains & dampness: Check ceilings and your attic for discoloration, damp spots, musty smells, or wet insulation. These can all be signs that moisture is getting where it shouldn’t.
4)Downspouts: Clear away leaves, sticks, and other debris around your downspouts and make sure water can flow freely away from your home.
5) Schedule an inspection: Not sure what you’re looking at—or notice something that doesn’t seem right? Give us a call, and we will take a closer look before winter weather arrives!
A little fall maintenance now can help you avoid a much bigger headache later!
