The draft budget out of Ways and Means yesterday eliminates the tax credit for directly-owned residential solar installations at the end of this year. There's still a long way to go to make this into law, but THIS IS A BIG DEAL. Expect a rush on solar installations through the end of this year....then trouble.

Another in Santa Rosa says: “Everyone I dealt with was great. It never felt like a high pressure sell and time was always taken to answer all questions. I ask a lot of questions, and I was never made to feel like I was a bother. Fernando was really nice and everyone on the team was great. I kept checking if they needed anything, but they never did. They worked so efficiently and no trash or debris was left behind. They communicated when needed and were easy to work with. [Permitting and Interconnection] was seamless. I didn’t feel like I had to do anything and the process was so smooth.” – SE

HUGE thank you to our Jim O'Hara of Sebastopol: "This is the third time that I have worked with Solar Works on a major project, so I knew what to expect from such an outstanding company. Solar Works performed my original solar system installation some 20 years ago, as well as a solar panel replacement a few years ago as part of a settlement with the manufacturer. In fact, I would have received free installation from the solar contractor recommended in the settlement, but I chose to pay out of pocket to have Solar Works perform the work instead so that everything would be done to the highest standards. I reached out to Solar Works when my original inverter failed, and they responded promptly with a system assessment and proposal for a full upgrade, which I had requested. Kyle presented several options to me, each of which was clearly explained and laid out in the written proposal, along with total cost and financing options. All of my questions were addressed, and I had an opportunity to discuss the details of the installation with John during a follow-up visit. Solar Works made all of the arrangements for the permit application and PG&E paperwork, making this a seamless customer experience.
Installation was scheduled as soon as the permit was approved. Moreover, the entire process took just three days to complete, with a minimum of inconvenience on my end. All of the old equipment was removed without damage to the space and taken away for recycling, along with any packing material and debris from the installation.
Thanks to Abraham, the system was up and running almost immediately, and I was able to monitor my energy production through the Enphase app that I had installed on my phone and tablet. A few days later, Asha came to my house for the final inspection and met with the county inspector without any need for me to get involved. I was able to obtain online access to all of the system literature that I needed and choose a convenient day and time for an in-person orientation to my system with Kyle, which provided me with yet another opportunity to ask questions and discuss any concerns."
Please spread the word! With federal funding on the chopping block, our friends at The Living Room need our support so that they can continue to support women in our community.

Solar Works is widely recognized as a trusted business that gives people the power to make a difference.
OUR HISTORY
In 1973, during the gasoline-scarce oil embargo, John Parry, our founder and FSL (Fearless Solar Leader) waited in a barely-moving gas station line, thinking: There must be a better way than fossil fuels to meet our energy needs. Soon after, John began applying his academic knowledge and practical experience into solar expertise. In 1986, Solar Works was born, and John built it from a one-person solar hot water business to a well-respected company that offers renewable energy and resource conserving services, with a focus on solar electricity. Several decades later, Solar Works has installed more solar systems in Sonoma County than any other local installer, and John Parry continues to lead by serving.
OUR MISSION
We provide energy efficient solutions that conserve natural resources and promote individual and community self-reliance.
