🐟✨ SILVERFISH SPOTTED? (They're not here for a swim!) 🚿

Ever flip on the bathroom light and see a little silver wiggler zip under the baseboard? That's a silverfish, and here on the Treasure Coast they LOVE our humidity. Damp bathrooms + old magazines, cardboard boxes, and wallpaper glue = their dream buffet. 😅

Quick Tuesday tip:
💨 Run the bath fan 20 minutes after showers (or crack a window)
🔧 Fix drippy faucets and leaky pipes under the sink
📦 Swap cardboard storage boxes for plastic bins with lids, especially in closets and the garage
📚 Recycle that stack of old magazines and newspapers
🌬️ Keep closets dry, a cheap moisture absorber goes a long way

Seeing more than one or two? They're usually sneaking in from outside, and our quarterly exterior spray helps stop them (and their roach and ant buddies) at the door. Local in Sebastian, free quotes, and we start within the week!

⚡🦟 MYTH OR FACT MONDAY! 🦟⚡

"My bug zapper keeps the mosquitoes away." 🤔

MYTH! 🚫 Mosquitoes find you by the carbon dioxide you breathe out, your body heat, and your scent, not by glowing lights. So that zapper on the porch is mostly frying moths, beetles, and other harmless night bugs, while the mosquitoes head straight for your ankles. 😅 Studies have found mosquitoes make up only a tiny fraction of what zappers catch.

What actually helps:
💧 Dump standing water every few days (saucers, buckets, birdbaths, bromeliads)
🌬️ A fan on the patio. Mosquitoes are weak fliers!
🌿 Regular mosquito treatments around the yard

We offer monthly mosquito misting for homes in Indian River County and Brevard from Viera/Suntree south. Quotes are free, and we can usually get you started within the week!

🍂🏨 LEAF PILES = BUG HOTELS! 🪳🐀

That weekend rake job looks tidy… until the leaf mountain sits for a week. In Indian River and Brevard, those piles stay warm and damp — five-star lodging for cockroaches, ants, and even rodents looking for a soft nest. 😩

Quick Monday yard tip:
🗑️ Bag or haul leaves within a day or two (don't let the "I'll get to it" pile grow)
📏 Keep any leftover piles at least 6 feet off the foundation and away from AC units
🪑 Flip cushions and check under porch furniture where leaves blow in and hide
👀 If you've got mulch tight to the house too, pull it back a few inches while you're at it

Finishing fall cleanup and want the perimeter sprayed while you're at it? We're local in Sebastian, quotes are free, and we start within the week!

🟫🌱 BROWN PATCHES IN THE LAWN? IT MIGHT BE CHINCH BUGS! 🐛🔍

Rainy season is winding down in Indian River and Brevard, and that's exactly when these tiny lawn bandits get busy. Chinch bugs are smaller than a grain of rice, but they suck the juice right out of St. Augustine grass and leave yellow-brown patches that look like drought. Watering more won't bring it back if bugs are the problem. 😩

Quick Sunday lawn check:
☀️ Look at the sunny edges first, along driveways, sidewalks, and the curb, where patches usually start
🥫 Try the can test: push a can with both ends cut out into the grass where green meets brown, fill it with water, and watch for tiny black-and-white bugs floating up in 5 to 10 minutes
💧 Water deeply a couple times a week instead of a little every day
✂️ Keep St. Augustine mowed tall (about 3.5 to 4 inches)
🚫 Go easy on the high-nitrogen fertilizer, because chinch bugs love lush, soft growth

Found some floaters, or just want someone to take a look? Our lawn spray program keeps chinch bugs and other lawn pests in check, and we're local in Sebastian with free quotes!

🦗🌙 WEEKEND BUG FACT: FLORIDA CRICKET SEASON 🌙🦗

Cooler October nights are here… and the crickets are putting on a concert! 🎶

Outdoors? Totally normal. Those loud chirps on the porch or in the yard are just Florida's nighttime soundtrack this time of year.

But if you start hearing them INSIDE the house? 🏠👂 That's your cue — a cricket found a gap under a door, around a window, or through a screen.

✅ Add or fix door sweeps
✅ Seal gaps around windows and baseboards
✅ Check screens for tears

A little sealing now = quieter nights later. 😴✨

Hearing more than just a cricket chorus? We're local in Sebastian, quotes are always free, and we can usually get you started within the week.

🔥🪵 FIRE PIT SEASON? CHECK THE WOODPILE FIRST! 🕷️🪳

The first cool evenings are rolling into Indian River and Brevard, and everybody's dusting off the fire pit. 🙌 Just know that the stack of firewood by the house is basically a free condo for palmetto bugs, spiders, ants, and even rodents. They move in fast and they don't pay rent. 😅

A few quick woodpile rules:
📏 Stack it at least 20 feet from the house
🧱 Keep it up off the ground on a rack or pallets
🚫 Don't lean it against walls, fences, or the lanai screen
🔥 Only bring inside what you'll burn that night
👋 Knock or shake each log outside first, so no hitchhikers ride in with it

Already seeing extra bugs around the house? Our quarterly exterior pest spray builds a barrier around your home so the bugs stay outside where they belong. We're local in Sebastian and quotes are always free!

🌧️❓ FRIDAY FAQ: DO YOU SPRAY IN THE RAIN? ❓🌧️

Short answer: Nope! 🙅

Here in Florida, a sunny morning can turn into a soaker by lunch. So if you've ever wondered whether we roll up and spray through a downpour… we don't.

✅ We never spray in the rain
✅ If a heavy rain hits about 30 minutes after we treat, the insect control has usually already done its job (it's a contact kill)
✅ Fertilizer just washes into the soil where it belongs
⚠️ Broadleaf w**d control is the one piece that can wash off if a hard rain comes right after

So if the sky opens up on service day, we reschedule. Your yard (and our results) are worth waiting for a dry window. ☀️

🦟🌴 10-MINUTE MOSQUITO SWEEP BEFORE THE WEEKEND! 🏈🍔

Planning a backyard cookout or a game day on the lanai this weekend? The mosquitoes are planning one too, and you're the buffet. 😅 Here in Florida they're still biting well into fall, and they only need a bottle cap of water to raise a whole family.

Take 10 minutes tonight and do a quick sweep:
🪴 Tip out plant saucers, buckets, and toys left in the yard
🌺 Flush bromeliads with the hose. Those pretty cups are mosquito nurseries!
🍂 Clear leaves out of the gutters so water doesn't sit up there
🐦 Swap out birdbath and pet bowl water every couple of days
🛶 Flip over kayaks, kiddie pools, and wheelbarrows

Still getting eaten alive? Our monthly mosquito misting knocks them back so you can enjoy your yard again. We're local in Sebastian and quotes are always free.
