On Saturday, we built a ramp for a couple who both needed better accessibility. The recipient’s application said, “I’m a 65-year-old SSDI recipient and a paraplegic with left side paralysis. I use a (very heavy 400 lb) power wheelchair.” The ramp that had been built for them was not ADA compliant – it was too steep, water pooled on the top surface, and it was slippery. She had almost gone through the back of it.

So we demo’d the existing ramp and built them something sturdy and safe.
