Evolution Architecture's focus and experience, as an adaptive reuse architect, is to restore, repurpose, and reposition buildings into long-term performance assets. We begin by documenting and evaluating the existing condition of the building(s). A feasibility study is then created for the client to select an appropriate architectural design solution to fit their needs and budget. This is followed

by a customized design package utilized for bidding, permitting, and construction. During the construction process, Evolution Architecture will provide periodic field inspections, facilitate client/contractor interface, and perform compliance reviews to ensure the work is being performed per plans and specifications.

9 Holes + Great Company ⛳

Last week, Evolution hosted our first 9-hole scramble for a group of 25 community managers, along with some of our favorite contractor and vendor partners.

It was a fun afternoon of golf, friendly competition, and a lot of time to catch up with people we enjoy working with. We wrapped up with lunch and awards before calling it a day.

At Evolution Architecture’s 6th Annual Golf Invitational, we were honored to partner with and - an incredible organization dedicated to empowering youth through meaningful mentorship, trade school education, and life-changing resources.

Because of the generosity of our golfers, sponsors, and supporters, we’re thrilled to share that we raised $8,000 to benefit their meaningful work! 🎉

Please join us in welcoming Bridget Heiland to the Evolution Architecture team!

Based in our Seattle office, Bridget will support rehabilitation projects across our multifamily and HOA portfolio. She works closely with our architects and design associates to develop enclosure designs and details, assist with site visits and technical reviews, and help ensure projects are delivered successfully and meet client goals.

Bridget earned her Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of North Dakota, bringing a strong technical foundation and problem-solving mindset to our team.

We’re excited to have Bridget on board and look forward to the expertise and energy she’ll bring to our projects. Welcome, Bridget! 🎉

This week we’re celebrating two incredible team members in our Portland office - Principal Architect Mike Cline and Design Associate Chris Jones - on their 2-year work anniversaries with Evolution Architecture!

James brings more than 15 years of experience in building science and enclosure consulting, with a strong background in architectural engineering and extensive expertise supporting multi-family projects throughout the Seattle region.

Stephen Heckman holds a Master’s degree in Engineering with a concentration in Building Science and Historic Preservation and is a SPRAT-certified rope access technician. He brings a rare combination of field awareness and technical precision to our team, with the ability to assess conditions directly on the face of the building while simultaneously translating those observations into clear, buildable concepts and details through unique 2D and 3D graphics.

Stephen also utilizes drone-assisted photography to document and model existing building conditions, leveraging his experience with drone-to-BIM workflows to support accurate analysis, visualization, and decision-making early in the design process. His design sensibility, rope access expertise, and advanced documentation methods make him especially effective on complex, occupied multifamily restoration projects
