Passports With Purpose

Passports With Purpose Passports with Purpose is the travel bloggers fundraiser. Raising funds in 2015 to bring digital reading to 5 libraries in western Kenya w/ Worldreader.

In its first year, Passports with Purpose raised $7,400 for Heifer International. In 2009, Passports with Purpose blew past its initial goal (which was to raise $14,000 to build a school in Cambodia) raising nearly $30,000 to add improvements to the basic school. The school, built through our partnership with American Assistance for Cambodia is now complete. In 2010, with overwhelming support and

assistance from the travel blog community, we raised $64,128, over 25% more than our original goal of $50,000 and built an entire village in India. Construction is also complete. In 2011, through our partnerships with the participating bloggers, we raised $90,000 to build two libraries in Zambia through a partnership with Room to Read. In 2012 raised $112,000 to build 5 wells in Haiti through a partnership with Water.org. We raised $84,000 in 2013 to build two schools in Mali. In 2014 the fundraiser brought in $25,000 to help five families and their communities in Honduras learn to farm sustainably for five years.

Sustainable farms in Central America. Wells in Haiti. Schools in Mali and Cambodia. A village in India. Libraries in Zambia and e-books in Kenya.

We are starting our last 15 hours of fundraising with $17,600. We'd like to reach $20K by 11:59 pm on 11/18. You can donate and enter to win some amazing prizes, but more importantly, you can make a difference for kids in Kenya. Can you help? (P.S. Please pass it on!)

We believe that the best answer to ignorance and hatred is education and love – the former being what our fundraiser is about and the latter being what we’ve seen so much of from all of you over the past weeks. That is why we have decided for the moment that Passports with Purpose will continue as p…

It's an annual tradition for us to share the prizes you have the best odds of winning. Bid on these prizes before 11:59 pm on Wednesday 11/18 and help bring e-readers to Kenya.

The “Best Odds Post” has become something of a tradition in the Passports with Purpose fundraiser. Every year we know that some people wait to donate and bid until we’ve told them just what prizes they have the best chance of winning.
