🚧 Sometimes the problem isn’t what you see on the surface.
This homeowner was dealing with cracks throughout their concrete pad. After demolition, we discovered the original slab was less than 2.5” thick in most areas—and in some spots, only about 1.5” thick.
Without proper thickness, compaction, and support, cracking over time is almost inevitable.
For this replacement, we:
✔️ Removed the failing concrete
✔️ Installed a properly prepared and compacted base
✔️ Install a rebar #4
✔️ Poured a new slab with the correct thickness
✔️ Added control joints to help manage movement and reduce future cracking
✔️ Matched the existing exposed aggregate finish so it blends seamlessly with the home’s walkway and surrounding concrete
The homeowner wanted the new section to look like it had always been there and that’s exactly what we delivered.
At Summer Pavers, we believe the quality you don’t see is just as important as the finish you do.
