What makes Seattle magnetic? The people who care enough to help shape its future.

Last week, we welcomed community leaders and partners to our downtown office to discuss Magnetic Seattle and the ideas shaping what’s next for our city. Inspired by Gensler’s City Pulse 2026 research, we shared perspectives on building a Seattle rooted in connectedness, belonging, and experiences you can’t find anywhere else.

Seattle ranks 4th among 34 U.S. cities for downtown “stickiness,” with 54% of residents visiting weekly and 35% often staying longer than planned. One message resonated throughout the conversation: “let’s not let perfection get in the way of moving forward.”

Thank you to everyone who joined us. Together, we’re helping shape a more connected, vibrant, and distinctly Seattle future.

How do we design for the feeling people remember? The most successful environments are designed not only to function, but to be remembered.

Memorable experiences don’t happen by accident. They create a clear connection between brand and place, deliver consistency across every touchpoint, and support people’s well-being in meaningful ways.

When done well, design can create emotional connections, reinforce brand identity, build trust over time, and leave lasting impressions. When people remember how a place made them feel, they are more likely to return, remain loyal, and advocate for it, turning experience into business value.
