Details! They are thought of and thought through far before we start construction. This picture is the start of one of the main features of our Seattle remodel. Cabinet panels end and are aligned with the above skylight. Walnut slats come next and are flush with the panel and face of skylight wall creating one simple visual line that will go unnoticed by most but felt by all. That’s the beauty of architecture and design. Swipe to see the rendering of what’s to come. CITIZEN DESIGN

Trying to explain details and transformation to clients today had us on a search for past projects. We came across this gem located in a wonderful neighborhood of Bellevue for wonderful humans. Truly forgot just how much of a transformation this was in these before and after pictures.

In these moments of reflection, so many feelings and moments resurface that are so easily forgotten in the busyness of life and the next project. Remodels can be hard with all the unknowns that are uncovered because nobody likes surprises but with earned trust, experience, and a true partnership mentality there is so much joy to be had.

There’s nothing quite like taking a step back, see the enjoyment in your clients eyes, and being proud of the team that put so many hours and care into the product.

Grateful we get to do this and so excited for the many more to come.

Excited to get our remodel in Queen Anne photographed soon. New curved oak railing with solid brass balusters. So many hours put into this fine piece of work. Thankful for the team of people who made this happen. It takes an architects vision, clients belief, and a talented group of craftsman working together to@ale something like this a reality. The finished product is fantastic but the path along to the finished product is just as important.

Getting excited! It’s not everyday we get to be a part of such an art as stained glass. Gary with Art Glass Technologies has been passionately doing stained glass since the 70’s! We are beyond thankful to be working with him on our Queen Anne craftsman remodel. Pictured here is an original piece by him in collaboration with and our client. What a welcoming piece to serve as the front door lite. Gary, you will probably never see this but know we are thankful for you!!

In this project, we preserved the sentimental essence of a beloved family home while modernizing its functionality. The home boasts an open floor plan and an effective use of steel, concrete, and walnut throughout. A central custom cast-in-place concrete fireplace, steel and walnut stairway, and 18-foot basalt tile feature wall stand out as striking focal points.

Located in Seattle, this cottage has been transformed into a stunning modern home by its owners, who also happen to be architects. Seeking contemporary design the new home features a plethora of bold, personal touches throughout. Skylights flood the space with natural light, custom woodwork fills areas such as the kitchen and bedrooms, and clever built-ins maximize every inch.

Valor Builds was challenged with building the custom remodel of the iconic penthouse located at Smith Tower. This project didn’t come without challenge. No freight elevator in this old of a building meant nothing over 8’. From framing through to finishes everything needed careful attention and deliberate intention. Can never look at finished photos without remembering the build experience. What a privilege it was to work on this project!
