VECA’s Annual Field Day 2026... and this one made waves! 🌊

To close out our summer BBQ season, our Seattle Corporate office got together for an afternoon of hot dogs, chili dogs, ice cream, games, and plenty of friendly competition.

One of the highlights was the dunk tank, where our Chief Legal Officer, Kyle Butler, took at least five trips into some seriously cold water. Thanks for being such a good sport, Kyle!

It’s always nice to step away from the day-to-day, spend time together, and have some fun with coworkers.

Thank you to everyone who helped make the event happen and to everyone who joined us. A great way to close out another summer together!

How do we maintain our connections and values alongside company growth?

This was one of the main topics at VECA's recent Leadership meeting. At this annual event, Executive, Division, and Department leaders engaged in focused discussions about VECA’s future, forged new relationships across the company, and shared experiences and lessons learned.

As VECA has grown steadily and expanded beyond our Seattle roots, keeping our values intact has been top of mind. They define our culture and set us apart as a place where employees want to build decades-long careers. Each leader presented how the values are connected to their team’s daily actions and work practices, beyond just words on a page. We call this ‘getting our values to the end of the row’, so everyone understands them as an ingrained part of how we do business.

Regardless of the team's role, office location, or type of work—one constant theme rang true: our commitment to each other starts with our values. CEO Dave Reed summed it up, “our continued success will depend on our ability to stay aligned, communicate honestly, and lead our teams with purpose.”

Thank you to our longtime partners Resources for their facilitation and for pushing our leadership to expand within their roles. The future is bright and we appreciate all our team leaders!

Allen Eslinger is a General Foreman with our Seattle Service and Maintenance department and will celebrate 10 years with VECA on October 13!

“My favorite part of the job is seeing a project all the way through, from walking the site with the customer and visualizing what they want, to putting together a proposal, completing the installation, and walking with the inspector for final inspection. I enjoy every step.”

Outside of work, Allen has been busy being a first-time father and loves sharing some of his favorite childhood activities again with his son. He’s also always on the lookout for the latest gadgets for cooking, BBQing, duck hunting, and, of course, electrical work.

Thanks, Allen, for 10 years of supporting our customers and representing VECA in the field!

Today, we remember September 11, 2001.

During a recent visit to New York City, a member of our VECA team had the opportunity to visit the 9/11 Memorial & Museum and surrounding memorials honoring those whose lives were lost and the first responders who answered the call.

Twenty-five years later, these places remain powerful reminders of the lives, service, sacrifice, and courage we remember today.

We will never forget.

We sat down with five women from across VECA and asked them about their experiences: Why did you come to VECA? What makes it a great place to work? And what has made you want to continue building your career here?
