Before templating our stair treads, we elected to finish the walls first — scribing the treads into the Black Walnut paneling, instead of the other way around.

To accomplish this, we had custom 1/4" panels milled with a rabbet. This rabbet joint allowed for some minor variance in flush on the front face. However, the joint also dictated panel orientation. In order to prevent book matching or symmetry, Tom mapped out the install ahead of time and worked with the cabinet shop to ensure all the pieces were oriented and milled properly. Our team is busy putting the final touches on Seattle Capoeira Center's new teaching space. Soon, this dance floor will be beaming with the sounds of song, dance and self defence instead of saws and power tools.

You know that feeling when you're cooking, and your family always seems to be standing right in front of the exact drawer you need? Every. Single. Time.

That's our crew right now. 😅

Near the end of a project, pinch points are inevitable — no matter how well you plan, all the trades end up needing the same space at the same time. It's in these moments that teamwork, patience, and efficiency really earn their keep. Hang in there guys!

Happy from our crew, working lakeside at Pacific Coast Yacht Services. These Simpson Strong-Tie concealed hangers keep the beam locked in tight while staying completely out of sight, letting the fir take center stage.

With our carpenters busy doing some precision framing work, our project management team welcomed SDOT Engineers and Special Inspectors onto the site to review progress.

Our woodshop crew is making excellent progress on the Bellevue College railing screens. Colorful resins will be carefully set into labeled insets throughout — each one placed with intention to bring the design to life. We can't wait to see this piece installed.
