CCH would love to congratulate our Production Manager, Richard Bower, and one of our Superintendents, Daniel Bower, on their recent accomplishment: Boomerang World Champions!
They recently traveled to Indonesia to compete in the World Boomerang Cup and, aside from winning the trophy in a close tournament, they also got to experience the beauty of Indonesia and its culture.
“The tournament was notable because our team came from behind to win on the 3rd day of the 3-day competition. We were in 2nd place behind the defending champion Brazilian team almost the entire time and were able to overtake and claim victory in the final event! Seeing the change in vibes on that 3rd day as folks realized what we were doing was quite something to be a part of.
Our squad “Raditude” was made up of 6 people from around the USA. Dan and I of course, hailing from Seattle. Logan Broadbent and Kenny Barr from Cleveland, Jason Smucker from Atlanta, and George Essig from St Louis. It was the 5th Team Cup title for Dan and myself.” - Richard Bower
“It was really cool to go to Indonesia and explore a new place! Indonesia has more active boomerang throwers and competitors then most countries, but we have not been able to meet many of them before, as its hard for them to afford travel to other countries for tournaments, because of the costs and their currency value. Maybe the best part of the trip was meeting dozens of people we’ve only known through social media for years and I really hope to see all of them again someday!
We lost to Brazil in the last WBC, finishing 2nd place, and it was the smallest margin of victory for any team in our sports history, heartbreaking for us, amazing for them, and they deserved the title! Winning it back this year in such dramatic and historically unprecedented fashion really was something to see and experience. After the final event, when the Brazilians came over to congratulate us, really was a powerful moment, for all of us. I’m looking forward to defending the title in 2 years, it will certainly be one heck of a battle!” - Daniel Bower
We love to see our team work hard both on site and off! Congrats for the big win!!
