The South Sound’s educational and industrial landscape has officially shifted with the opening of Maritime|253! Located along the eastern shores of the Thea Foss Waterway, the brand-new regional skills center represents a monumental partnership between Tacoma Public Schools and the Port of Tacoma.

Opening May 11th!

We’ve spent months perfecting the glow of the new Central Library at Stevens Ranch.

Our challenge was to complement the massive Laminated Timber ceilings without distracting from their natural beauty. We utilized high-performance, integrated systems that prioritize color rendering, accurately capturing the natural warmth and grain of the timber.

Our design works in tandem with the sawtooth façade, automatically balancing daylight with artifice as natural light floods the third-floor reading rooms. From precision-aimed accent lighting on the floating art piece, to the community lantern effect created after sunset, every lumen was placed with intention.

Exciting news from the Blanca team💡The EWU Pence Union Building received one of the three top World Architecture News WAN Awards 2022 (Bronze Award) in the “Education and Research Facilities” built category. EWU PUB is one of two Educational built projects in the United States to be honored this year in the top 3 global awards. This is the 6th design award for EWU PUB since completion. Congratulations to the EWU PUB Team! Amazing team and project!
