Second in a phased remodel based on a master plan remodel design, this remodel added a large dormer addition to add a new primary suite with walk-in-closet and ensuite bath as well as a laundry room and a fourth bedroom with its own ensuite bath. The laundry room included space for small home office and door opening up to a juliet balcony to provide access to move in large furniture that couldn’t be navigated up the existing narrow stair. In the prior remodel of the main floor, drain lines and utilities were roughed in for this further addition to not require opening up the ceiling of the main level.

This remodel expands the existing traditional home from a small three-bedroom home to a four-bedroom house with a large family room on the upper level. The 2nd story addition cantilevers over the existing footprint of the house, giving it a dynamic contemporary character while also allowing for reduced site disturbance to environmental critical area (ECA) hillside behind the house. A new roof deck takes advantage of the site’s view of Lake Washington while also capturing new views of Mount Rainier..

The existing single-family residence is located near Crystal Mountain and White Pass ski resorts, making it a prime destination for outdoor recreation all year round. The client sought to expand the small two-bedroom, one-bathroom cabin to make it more family and entertainment-friendly to support their social and outdoor lifestyle. The existing cabin was expanded to add two more bedrooms and bathrooms while renovating existing spaces with modern finishes and an expanded kitchen. A large mudroom was also included to provide an interior buffer space between the wet outdoors and the warm interior spaces.

A Remodel to a house in Seattle’s Ravenna Neighborhood. The owners downsized into a smaller home and wanted to adapt it for aging-in-place single level living. The small bathroom was enlarged to create a curbless shower with grip bars and space for a wheelchair to turn around. A new laundry hall closet was added to the main level by carving space out of an awkwardly proportioned galley kitchen. A steep interior stairway that blocked access to the deck from the kitchen was relocated to provide access to the rear deck directly from the remodeled kitchen. The basement was also remodeled with its own bathroom, laundry and separate entrance. The crawl space was converted to conditioned area with additional storage.

Located in the Surrey Downs neighborhood of Bellevue, this remodel updated an existing mid-century modern home. Surrey Downs is filled with mid-century homes that are slowly being lost and replaced with larger homes. The owners lived down the street from this house that had been vacant for some time. Not wanting to see this home demolished and replaced with a large house, the owners purchased and restored it when it was listed. The remodel consisted of updating and repairing the neglected home as well as adding a small addition to create an ensuite walk-in-closet and bathroom for the primary bedroom.

Outbound Mammoth (formerly the Sierra Nevada Resort) is part of the Outbound Hotel brand, a hospitality project for adventure tourism where the hotel is a basecamp for the adventurist. Improvements to the Resort included updates to the existing hotel and restaurant, new swimming pool and spas and restrooms, and new detached hotel rooms. This project involved the construction of an amenity building housing pool deck restrooms and pool mechanical equipment as well as hotel / outdoor storage. The new hotel room construction consisted of individual site-built cabin rentals and prefabricated modular 4-unit hotel rentals.

Located on San Juan Island, this custom designed prefabricated modular home was designed in an H shape configuration to provide a central living space with flanking bedroom wings. The central space has upland views to the wooded site on the south and opens up to a covered deck on the water side. Window locations were optimized for connecting with the natural settings while also orientated to provide privacy from adjacent properties.
