There aren’t many people in this business who have seen it all. Tom Petrie is one of them.
Tom is quite simply the most experienced builder I know. As the owner of RW Anderson Homes, when I have a construction question I can’t answer, Tom is the first person I’m going to.
And there’s some history there.
Back in 2005, when we were still learning how to build homes from the ground up, Tom joined our team and helped teach us how to do it. More than 20 years later, he’s still here—only now he oversees our field operations and quality control across RW Anderson Homes.
If Tom shows up on your job site, you can pretty much count on two things: he’s going to find something 😂, and everyone is going to be better for it.
Not much rattles him. He’s incredibly hardworking, fiercely loyal, quick-witted, and has one of the biggest hearts of anyone I know. Before construction, Tom worked on commercial fishing boats, and to this day he’ll disappear for a week or two each year to go hunting. He’s our resident rugged individualist—and I wouldn’t have him any other way.
But maybe the quality I appreciate most is that Tom is a closer.
When something falls between the cracks, gets complicated, or simply needs someone to roll up their sleeves and get it across the finish line, Tom’s response is pretty much always the same:
“Throw me in, Coach.”
As an owner, you can’t put a price on having someone like that in your corner.
Tom, I’m incredibly grateful for your loyalty, your character, your friendship, and the more than two decades you’ve poured into RW Anderson Homes. You continue to make us better, raise the bar, and help us build at a higher level.
We’re lucky to have you, my friend.
