Engineering and architecture education has a new home at WSU Pullman! On Friday afternoon in Pullman, the university held a grand opening and ribbon cutting celebration for Schweitzer Engineering Hall.

The 66,288-square-foot facility is now the central hub for WSU Voiland College of Engineering and Architecture. With multipurpose classrooms, makerspaces, and dedicated areas for advising, tutoring, clubs and career services, the building creates an environment where students are supported at every step.

Led by Lewis and ZGF Architects, the progressive design-build team delivered a project not that not only advances design and engineering education but puts engineering on display — from exposed structural elements and building systems to flexible zones that bring students together.

Also completed just down the hill from Schweitzer Engineering Hall and adjacent to the existing chiller plant is WSU's first nodal utility plant. It'll initially serve Schweitzer Engineering Hall but will have built-in capacity to serve other buildings in the future.

Lewis laborers, they're the folks who show up early, stay one step ahead and do the work that keeps our jobsites moving.

Take Lacy Fairbrother, a Lewis journeyman laborer in Oregon. She is often the first on-site to walk the job, identify safety concerns, coordinate with the project team and ensure the site is ready for the day ahead.

Her work is a great example of what our laborers bring to every project: an eye for safety, a commitment to quality, a willingness to jump in and a knack for solving problems before they impact the build.

Laborers may not always be the ones in the spotlight, but their impact is felt across every jobsite.

Construction has officially begun on the CASCADA Thermal Springs + Hotel in Bend, and we are excited to celebrate this milestone with SOLTERRA, Hacker Architects and the entire project team.

Tuesday, we ceremonially marked the beginning of construction on this remarkable wellness destination. As Lewis continues to grow our presence in Central Oregon, we're especially honored to be breaking ground on yet another project in downtown Bend and to strengthen our commitment to serving this vibrant and growing community.

The 130,000-square-foot project will feature a 68-room boutique hotel, a thermal spa, rooftop pools and saunas with sweeping views of the cascades, creating a one-of-a-kind experience tailored to the high desert and outdoor recreation recovery.

With site work already underway, we are excited to bring this project to life and look forward to delivering this exceptional destination to the Bend community.

There’s nothing quite like putting your stamp on a project.

At last week’s topping out ceremony for Portland’s newest music venue, developed by AEG Presents and Monqui Presents, more than 175 project team members, trade partners and guests gathered to mark the occasion and sign a cross-laminated timber panel that will be installed above the venue's entrance, a lasting tribute to the people who built it.

Field leaders also used the milestone to thank the craft workforce for completing the structural phase with an exceptional focus on safety and quality.

With the structure complete, crews are shifting their focus to drying in the building so they can begin installing MEP systems and interior finishes.

When complete in early 2027, the 65,000-square-foot venue at the former Lloyd Center Nordstrom site will accommodate up to 4,250 guests and feature a main stage, mezzanine seating, bars and support spaces.

A topping-out ceremony marks the placement of the final steel beam and the people who made the milestone possible.

Our team recently topped out our HI3 data center jobsite in Hillsboro, Oregon, recognizing the craft workers, trade partners and project team whose dedication and collaboration brought the building's structural frame to completion.

Thank you to everyone on the project for your craftsmanship, teamwork and unwavering commitment to safety. We look forward to carrying that momentum into the next phase as crews prepare for precast wall panel installation later this month.

Today marks the 140th day of Lewis’ 140th year as a Pacific Northwest builder! Teams across Seattle, Portland, Eugene and beyond showed up in their favorite Lewis gear to celebrate a legacy built over generations. From the vintage windbreakers to the modern quarter zips, Lewis swag was on full display!

Since 1886, Lewis employees have helped shape communities through craftsmanship, innovation and pride of ownership. As an employee-owned company, that legacy belongs to every Lewis employee.

Lewis Blue Day is a celebration of the people, relationships and shared values that have carried Lewis through 140 years — and the next 140 to come.
