A strong connection to place and neighbors is what allows communities to thrive.
The architecture of Links Yale seeks to foster that connection in multiple ways in order to build a strong community. By emphasizing the shared space between homes rather than turning away from it, residents are given a space to share, gather, and come together in meaningful ways. By addressing the prevalence of outdoor recreation among Seattleites and accommodating for that, residents are given a chance to better understand their neighbors and potentially develop new friendships based around shared interests or finding new ones. And finally, by creating historical ties to the history of this city and its connection to the sailing industry, residents can feel more connected to a vital part of this city’s identity and sense of place.
