Staircases do more than connect floors, they shape the user experience. From sculptural focal points to subtle architectural moments, a well-designed stair can define movement and bring identity to a space, helping everyday circulation becomes something memorable.

We love exploring how stairs can elevate a project — take a look at a few from our work.

We are excited to see our Clark Nuber workplace project featured on Office Snapshots!

In partnership with Clark Nuber, CollinsWoerman explored multiple workplace scenarios to create a new 37,656 SF office across levels 7 and 8 of City Center Plaza in Bellevue, designed around their people, culture, and evolving ways of working.

The result is a workplace that balances collaboration and focus, flexibility and connection, creating an environment that supports how Clark Nuber’s teams work today and into the future.

Reimagining what a medical workplace can be.

First Hill Medical Pavilion transformed a 215,000 SF biotech lab into a lighter, more transparent medical office and public pavilion. With a new entry courtyard and expanded outdoor spaces, the project created a welcoming urban presence for patients, providers, and the surrounding community.

Designed as a jewel box retail destination, the new KeyBank Pavilion activates the street with vibrant ground-floor uses, an enhanced streetscape, and a welcoming public plaza.

Integrated with the adjacent Four106 development, the pavilion creates a cohesive architectural presence that strengthens the pedestrian experience.

Built over an existing 1971 parking garage, the project required a carefully coordinated structural solution and concurrent approvals, resulting in one of the most ambitious commercial projects in Bellevue to date.

“The CollinsWoerman team approached our remodel with exceptional thoughtfulness and curiosity. They took the time to truly understand our goals, digging into the ‘why’ behind what we wanted to achieve. Our remodel was an opportunity to reimagine how we interact with the physical space, and CollinsWoerman embraced that challenge with creativity and a collaborative approach.” - Erin Green, COO, Clark Nuber

A testament to the power of engagement and design that puts people first — The Clark Nuber project is a clear example of our Culture Discovery Process in action and we were grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with such a wonderful client!

Thoughtful infrastructure is an essential part of great community design. CollinsWoerman designed this 355-stall parking structure to serve five residential buildings and adjacent retail while seamlessly integrating into the fabric of Woodin Creek Village. More than parking, the structure supports the community with an emergency generator, maintenance facilities, and a skybridge connection — bringing together functionality, efficiency, and a better everyday experience for residents and visitors.

Contemporary mountain living is at the core of the design of Schweitzer Mountain Ski Resort’s 26-unit residential addition. The project features four-bedroom, three-bedroom, two-bedroom, studio, and lofted penthouse residences with amazing views of the surrounding mountains, Lake Pend Oreille, and ski slopes. The design for 5 Needles at White Pine was inspired by local and natural elements, including blackened steel and earthy wood tones with contrasting soft white marble. CollinsWoerman created the design to be authentic, welcoming, rich, and grounding to create a modern take on ski Haus.
